Smells awful, but don't let your nose fool you. Tastes like a tootsie roll beer. (Side note, I love tootsie rolls.). Smooth notes of chocolate and when you get past the smell, this beer will surprise you.

Easy, drinking delicious. Nabbed at the liquor store in a " build your own sixpack". Dark brown with ruby highlights, minimal head and lacing. Smells of sweet roasted malts and brown sugar, Taste follows with an odd aftertaste I can't place but I'm not worried about it. Medium carbonation, overall lovely and I'm completely surprised at the ABV. It's too easy drinking for that. Also lacks a smokiness I normally associate with Scottish Ales. Good.

This was definitely the best of the four Declaration beers I tried. Very nice color and flavor, just strong enough so you know you're drinking an 8% ABV beer, but not overpowering. This was a good Scottish ale.
