not a bad beer, but not an amazing showcase of mosaic. instead of being a really hoppy and flavorful ipa thats just low on alcohol, this seems like a dumbed down version flavor and feel alike. almost more of a pale, or worse for its sake, a blonde ale. not much going on in the way of grain, watery feel, fresh, but not much flavor at all. the mosaic smell better than they taste here, again fresh, but minimally dosed. i would imagine this could be improved upon significantly with a more substantial dry hop. i like session beers, especially hop forward ones, but this promises a lot more than it delivers, which i feel is becoming a common theme with the beers from declaration. ambitious or at least compelling to some extent on the chalkboard, but underwhelming in the glass. nothing wrong with this, its refreshing, juicy, well carbonated, and a great companion to the awesome barbecue food truck they had here yesterday, but it doesnt impress me very much on the whole, too safe, under flavored, generic. nice to see its improving from a quality standpoint over here, but this one is still nothing special on the whole. summery though, and mass appealing for an "ipa", but thats a generous use of the term...
