a unique but over the top strong ale from these guys, who spiked the original gravity and let this ferment at what seems like an outrageous temperature. its highly estery and phenolic and fruity and the yeast really does take it over, but it seems almost morphed beyond belgian, as it incorporates lots of fusel alcohol, some residual sugar still, and some unexpected hefeweizen type elements, banana and pepper spice, very interesting and not at all unappealing, if a little absurd. pale golden in color with an average carbonation to it that turns out to be quite high for its strength. the alcohol and fruitiness here is insane, pear and apple and white grape, all sort of candied like rock candy to me, somehow simple and almost one dimensional from a grain standpoint, i dont even know how thats possible in a beer this big, itd be boring without all these weird yeast notes. so boozy, i mean wow, its hot, but its agreeable to me somehow still, sort of amateurish as it is. a pleasant sipper if you like runaway belgian yeast, and i generally do, but small doses only!
