20oz pint on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Apparently their beers have been brewed by Brew Brothers, who are imminently closing. No word on who will be making the brews here thereafter.
This beer appears a slightly hazy medium bronzed amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, thickly foamy, and frothy beige head, which renders some disintegrating iceberg lace, after exhibiting some rather sturdy retention.
It smells of fruity citrus flesh, bready caramel malt, wet minerals, white grape juice, and earthy, leafy hops. The taste is very fruity orange and sweet grape juice, grainy caramel malt, thin toffee, and consistent leafy, earthy hops
The carbonation is moderate, just nice and frothy, the body a tenuous medium weight, and generally smooth, with a subtle hint of creaminess. It finishes semi-sweet, still fruity and replete with caramel malt.
A tasty enough pale ale, if fruity hops are your thing, but balanced enough by the malt, and easy to drink. However, the overall lack of bitterness might get tiring after a few rounds - best not take that chance, eh?
