Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark reddish orange with a big, fine three finger khaki head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of bready and biscuit malt, faint dark dried fruit, coconut. Flavor is biscuit and pale malt, slight caramel and coconut. Finishes thin with a light metallic note, but with hints of coconut. Light to medium bodied with active carbonation. Although this has a nice red ale color and beautiful head, it has a very light body that does resemble a thin amber ale with coconut juice and hints of caramel and both light metallic notes and slight tartness in the finish. Starts light, but OK, then goes downhill into a mediocre finish. Drinkable, but unremarkable as an amber with only the coconut to recommend it.
