Clear, golden yellow body; decent carbonation; good head for a chili beer, thin, white, lasting. Prominent scent of roasted chili peppers over a cracker and biscuit malt smell. The taste mirrors the aroma; relatively mild serrano chili pepper flavor with a nice, grain-like malt base in the background. Medium body; lightly oily; fine pepper warmth throughout.
This is a fine tasting chili pepper beer. The pepper flavor isn't too hot or too faint (they used serrano peppers from Colorado). Balanced and flavorful are the key descriptives for this beer. I wouldn't hesitate to offer this beer to someone new to chili beers but a little leery of what they may experience. This beer delivers some excellent qualities all around.
ABV: 4.9%; pouring temperature: 43 °F; crowler date: 10/08/24
