Some profit from thes sales of this beer goes to helps save the Belugas, which I think is really cool. But is the beer any good? Let's see!
Nice dark amber/copper color with a beautiful creamy head (a little less than an inch). Really nice caramel smell but there's not much else in the nose. I missed the part that said "Maple flavor" on the bottle so I was pleasantly surprised when I took a sip. You don't search the maple flavor, it's there and you can't miss it! But it's really well mixed with the caramel flavor so it's not over the top. There's also a nice smoky flavor and a really subtle alcohol presence that reminds me of a watered down whisky that creates a nice finish.
I really did not have much expectations from the beer, I just thought the profits went to a good cause, but it's a really solid Maple Scotch Ale. Will definitely drink again!

Appearance - This beer pors a very dark brownish amber, with 2 fingers offwhite head. The head has stuck around for the last 10 mins and is still going strong, beautiful carbonation replenishing the head.
Aroma - The first thing that hits your nose is Maple followed by caramel then buscuity malt. then I get some dark fruit like plum and raisins coming in very lightly. followed by fresh bread.
Taste - Im getting maple on the front of my tongue followed up with some nice buscuity caramel malt. this is very sweet to start. Then you get some plum and raisin followed by a coffee bitterness after you swallow the maple comes back as an aftertaste, and it leaves almost a medicinal flavor in your mouth. This is rather complex.
Feel - this is a medium to full body, its almost chewy, I could picture the fresh maple syrup lol. It has very strong prickly carbonation for such a high abv drink (7.8% not 7.0% my bad)
Overall - This is a really good scotch ale. its not the best I've had, that would go to one of the barrel aged ones I've had but this is definitely worth the try.
