Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, bakers chocolate and drip coffee. Charry coffee and chocolate finish with a light astringency. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A surprisingly coffee forward stout with bitter chocolate and good malt char notes. Not much in the way of oat character to the malt, with a not much more body than a standard moderate ABV stout. The flavor is still fine for a coffee roast and toasty version of stouts.
