Unassuming location tucked into an industrial area. Simple layout that can handle no more than about 50 people comfortably. Pretty good selection, well informed staff, and most of the offerings were pretty solid.

In an industrial area of Torrance so not much to look at. the taproom is fairly small but with a good selection of beers. Some barrel aged stuff too. Flights available too.

Their beer is terrible; it's that simple. Typical industrial vibe except that there are uncomfortable pews to sit on. Themey, but not practical. There are some great breweries in the area, no reason to go to this one.

A short drive from downtown Torrance, Absolution Brewing is housed in a large industrial complex, but the chance of getting lost inside is eased by a helpful sign which is posted at the street. I found the place, but I can't enter at the doors at the address, it tells me to go right and...there's a food truck and a garage door open. Hooray! I'm ready for more beer.

Much of the brewery is roped off from public access, though there's still a large "L" shaped bar, several church pews as seating for additional capacity, and more space to stand around. During the late afternoon, many of the spots at the bar were taken, but I found a spot which gave me an easy sightline to the posted beer menu and taps.

Although a brewery which just opened over a month ago, nine different beers were flowing from the taps. Several varieties of IPA pouring, along with a porter, stout, hefeweizen, saison, and Belgian golden ale. With many choices, it was tempting to order a flight of beers. But because this is DoubleJ, I tend to order full pours, and the hefeweizen, porter, and Red IPA were tasted. All three beers were of solid quality, and adding texture to the experience was its own branded stange, albeit one that held only 12 ounces. In terms of value, that made the $5 pours look like $6.50+ pint pours, so it is a little more expensive.

What made the visit a joy was the staff. Three staff members behind the bar at different times, each one friendly and personable, especially Nigel the owner. Not only did he know his product, but he was curious how others liked his beer. As the afternoon stretched from three to four o'clock, more people came inside for beers. Who knows what it looks like during the evening, but based on what I saw, Absolution Brewing already looks like a success in the immediate area.
