A traditional American IPA brewed with Chinook, Cascade and Comet hops that produce a citrus flavor that will please the palate of any hop connoisseur.

Name origin: A traditional name for a flat rail car carrying a trailer, and after a few of these you could find yourself flat on your back.

Draft pour into one those new age short but wide IPA glasses that lip out about halfway up to widen out the glass and then lip out again at the top. (What are these glasses called??) Light amber in appearance with a finger of dirty-looking, off-white foam head. Pine and citrus dominate the nose and taste on this one. It is a very nice balance of the too. Not overly bitter nor overly strong at 6.5%. Medium-full mouthfeel. Kind of malty and almost sticky. This was my favorite pour I had the day I visited Iron Spike. Could drink a few of these and not kill your palate or find yourself schnockered.

12oz can. Hazy rusty colored body with a foamy beige head. Aroma is earthy, spicy, piney hops with bready, grainy caramel malt. Pungently bitter with a bold malt backbone: earthy pine, spicy & grassy hops, pithy grapefruit, bread crust, caramel, and toasted grain. Medium body, ample carbonation, pungent hop oils stick to the palate rendering a bitter finish. Awesome old school American IPA.

I believe my old neighbor got me a can of this. It poured a hazy orangish with chunks. There was white head present that is leaving some lace. I HATE CHUNKS! The scent had nice pine and citrus peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with slight bitter tart dry finish that gives boozy appeal. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Pours a golden murky yellow with a creamy foamy head that lasts for a decent bit, but dies off relatively quickly. Some lacing, but not a whole lot with this brew. Smells very citrusy, mild maltiness in the background that is drowned out by the aroma of citrus, pine, and floral hops. Tastes a bit like a grapefruit mixture, and mild pine and floral hops in the background. Lighter body, which is a bit odd for the style, but definitely something that does not go amiss here. Overall. one of the better IPAs from a local brewery I have had the chance to sample. Recommended.

This is a perfectly average IPA. Nothing to write home about.
L- Light gold-amber. Looks good.
S- Best thing about it. This is how an IPA should smell. I personally like pine notes, not much in this one.
T- This is an IPA. Hoppy. Crisp. Boring.
F- Crisp. Not overly carbonated. Not the smoothest but solid.
O- Solid IPA. You won't regret drinking this beer. I might buy it again.

This beer is alright. Gorgeous color, sweet malt and generic hop bitterness. Nothing really unique going on here, but I'd drink this again. Could use more dry hopping character.

This was a goofy beer for me. Looked great. Smell was pleasant but nothing spectacular; very subtle. There was some really great citrus/citrus rind notes on the taste. The feel was very hollow and empty, however. Honestly, not a terrible local option.

Aroma is pine, spices, hops and a hint of heat. The flavor is grapefruit, citrus/orange, hops and a long and mix of spicy/heat and bitterness in the finish.

Look - slightly hazy, light amber.

Smell - somewhat underwhelming for an IPA. The expected hop aroma just isn't there.

Taste - citrusy but slightly soapy

Feel - as expected

Overall - Definitely not the worst IPA I've had, but nothing really stands out about it. Overall, it's a reliable brew and a nice refresher on a hot day
