500ml bottle from Mediterraneo Bar, Rovinj, Croatia (37 kuna):
This one was a beer that proved to be quite a disappointing effort, particularly when compared the same brewery's Czech pilsner. Drinkable but weak & very bland with not enough coming from the aroma or taste. Some nice pale malts & bitterness featured early on but things faded fast & left me disappointed; definitely a beer that I was expecting a lot more of.

Cost was 38 kuna per half litre at Buzz Bar in Dubrovnik.
BOTTLE: .5 litres. Brown glass. Classy understated label.
5% ABV. Served cold into a San Servolo teku.
HEAD: 2.5 inches wide. Pale khaki colour. Good consistency; thick enough, creamy, frothy, and even. Nice complexion. Retention is good - about 5 minutes.
BODY: Dark deep orange-auburn. Translucent; nontransparent. No yeast is visible.
Appears well-carbonated. Looks decent for an Amber.
AROMA: Caramalt, cream, vague fruity hops, Amber malts. Seems to land on the sweeter side. I detect no yeasty notes, off-notes, or booze.
Aromatic intensity is average. A generally appealing aroma for the style.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Very Amber malt forward, but also over carbonated. Subsidiary Caramalt and cream add a bit of complexity, but the beer as a whole remains relatively simplistic. Not shallow, though more depth of flavour is needed. Subtlety is adequate. What does work is its balance, though granted, that's not all that difficult with such a no-frills flavour profile.
Smooth, wet, somewhat bready and filling, medium bodied, aptly thick. The mouthfeel dits the taste and style, but doesn't elevate the beer. Not a gestalt or intricate beer, but it has definite cohesion to its construction and fulfills style expectations.
OVERALL: A pleasant drinkable serviceable Amber, but not a world class beer. It won't impress the discerning drinker, but it's easily above average in quality and will satisfy fans of the style. Certainly well worth trying even at Dubrovnik prices, and easily one of the better beers I've thus far had in Croatia.

Pours a dark amber color with a medium white head, with almost no retention. Heavy on the carbonation.
The aroma is nice - caramel and sweet malts, some fruity addition also.
The taste is straigtforward bitter, but not on the bad side. There are some spices also present, although very weak.
Drinkable with a strong taste.
