This beer is not a heavy dark beer. It instead has a great feel in your mouth with the perfect amount of carbonation. The balanced roasted flavor is exactly what you expect from an European dark lager. None of this beer will go to waste.

Bottle. Dark brown with no head, with some rising effervescence.
Roasted malt aroma.
Sweet barley malt upon tasting. Dark fruits, prunes and figs.
Moderate carbonation and middling body.
Quite refreshing for a dark brew.

In Zadar Croatia at The Famous Beach Bar. 5.6% ABV.
Look: Opaque black body with a weak white head.
Better aroma than flavor, with some off notes in the taste.
Medium body and adequate carbonation.

500ml bottle from Mediterraneo Bar, Rovinj, Croatia (37 kuna):
This one proved to be a fairly enjoyable dark lager, it was perhaps a touch light but there was some pleasant touches of chocolate coming through alongside quite an earthy taste that featured some pleasant roasted malts. It was a fairly easy beer to drink whilst not being quite as good as the brewery's pilsner but I still enjoyed it.

Boasts a long lasting off white head. Fluffy but not real frothy. Recedes within 8 minutes, leaving no lacing.

Body is a rather dark Amber. Nontransparent, with no visible yeast.

Appears well carbonated. Not unique or special, nor even conventional.

AROMA: Faint dried plum and raisin. Fruit skin. That's it. A faint understated aroma.

TASTE: Raisin, faint coffee, chocolate malt, schwarz malts, dark malts. Cream. Wine-like grape and prune notes. Vinous character. Well put together, with ample nuance and subtlety for the style. Very well balanced. Cohesive in its build. Gestalt.

TEXTURE: Medium-bodied, smooth, wet, of moderate thickness. Well carbonated. It's coarse and dry enough to accentuate the mild coffee a bit, but never drags on the palate or comes off scratchy. Good execution, though the mouthfeel doesn't quite elevate the beer as a whole.

OVERALL: One of the best dark lagers in recent memory, and easily one of the best beers I've had in Croatia. More suited to the winter than the summer, but drinkable any time of year. Will please the discerning drinker, even if it does have plenty of room for improvement.

Really solid black lager enjoyed on the coast of Croatia. Charcoal color with a thick, quickly dissipating tan head. Toasty, roasty with some fig and a touch of tobacco. Finishes crisp and biscuity.

Got it from Croatia. Interesting fancy bottle, 0,5 L

A - Dark color, few bubbles with creamy huge brown foam, lasting all the way.
S - Dark fruits, very aromatic. Caramel and roasted malts in the back. Fresh and noble ingredients.
T/M - Very smooth to drink. Creamy, good balanced, bitter aftertaste with medium carbonation. Caramel mostly in the mouth, with dark fruits, grape. It is almost as some Trappist beers !

O - This is really outstanding.

Murky, coppery brown, sparkling almost like sparkling wine. Tan head, sweet and lasting. Banana yeast taste, plums and grapes in malt, rich but overcomplicated. Floral hops, sweet and bitter aftertaste simultaneously, long lasting and complex. Mineral and metalic aftertaste, smell still lasts, parfum and clean.

Cloudy, light coffee in color w/ thin light tan head. Musky, herbal aroma. Flavor is of roasted malts & slightly sweet w/ an odd bitterness. Has a thin & watery mouthfeel.

Overall I'd say this is a mildly interesting beer, however, in contrast to the ubiquitous macro brews one can find in Croatia this is a good alternative and worth trying.
