Pours a deep, dark golden amber coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt, some muddled citrus/tropical hops and a distinct, tart and citric lactic acid presence. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt, citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit and mango, and a distinct, tart and citric lactic acidity. Finishes with a light/medium lactic acidity and some citrus/tropical notes lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I guess this is pretty nice for what it is, although the lactic acidity is pretty strong, making it a little difficult to make out where the citrus hops end and the citric acidity starts, making this feel just a tad muddled, even though some grapefruit and mango are noticeable. So while the lactic acidity isn't quite overpowering, it's a little overdone for my personal taste, which is probably to style for a Sour IPA though. I mean, it's enjoyable enough, but seems a little neither here nor there to me. Very nice, soft and full mouthfeel though.
