Strawberry Hefeweizen

one of my favorites that we had in here, partially because i think the base hefeweizen would be solid on its own, a little more sturdy grain composition than is traditional it seems, but its a nice vector for the yeast, and its not overly estery, which keeps it clean and refreshing as the style goes, something i would drink a lot of just as it is, but i really like what the strawberry adds here. its natural, like all the fruited beers they had in here (a fair few!), but its also really bold, they clearly used a lot of fruit, its not quite candy-like, but its definitely got more than just the essence of fresh strawberry, almost cocktail-esque in its forwardness, but its tempered and incorporated by the wheat, not overly sweet because of the dry and earthy grain offsetting so much of that. the strawberry flavor and the natural banana notes from the yeast in here go amazingly well together, and it immediately makes me surprised there arent more of these, its such a great combination of flavors. a little tartness from the fruit in the middle is nice too, keeps it authentic, and lightens it up well. good carbonation and maybe just a little more finishing sweetness than it needs, but i wouldnt change much here at all. if you like a nice fruit beer in the summer, this is a great one!
