a really tasty summery gose, multigrain and layered, with passion fruit and lime in it, nice and light, and relatively clean on the lacto souring side of things. maybe just a tad more fruit than it needs, its pretty intense, but the levels of grain in here balance that well. wheat and pils malt taste fresh and sturdy in this, there is a nice cereal element, basic but solid. the passion fruit is tangy, nice with the lactic pucker thats working its way though this, lemony more than limey, i guess an element of the bacteria more powerful than the added lime, but i do get both, almost soda-like in the middle. some sweetness from the fruit too, but the sourness trumps it in the end. zesty freshness, natural to me, and carbonated well enough to be refreshing while also not too sour to be drinkable. its a neat fruit combination and i like that the grain is as assertive as it is while staying dry. they had a lot of fruit beers happening in here when we visited, but this was definitely one of the best. perfect for this time of year.
