Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark, brown to black coloring, with a clingy, filmy, tan head. Nose of subtle fruit sweetness, heavily roasted coffee, and old-world fruit (date and raisin, mostly). Flavors are heavily roasted coffee and molasses forward, with a Belgian spice undertone and boozy highlights. Very slick, smooth body, with a bittersweet coffee and spice aftertaste. The finish is a blend of sweet and spice lingering. Solid brew.
