A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2014, so it's a little out of date. Picked up a while back from the York Beer & Wine shop. The label mentions that Styrian hops are generously employed in the brewing process.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich orange-amber hue with faint haze and low carbonation. Yields a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of subdued floral hops and grainy malt with hints of grass/hay, noble hops, faint spice, a touch of caramel, ale yeast and a whisper of stewed hops. Pleasant enough.
T: Tastes of grassy hops and subtle malt with a crisp, dry finish. Notes of grass/hay, noble hops, faint spice, husky grain, ale yeast, earthiness and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained, leafy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and good body for the strength. Mildly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of grassy aroma hops, mild grain and earthy yeast.
O: Quite nice, though for an IPA it could do with a more pronounced hoppiness. Looks OKish; more lively carbonation wanted. Pleasant aroma but too delicate, however the flavour is a tad more robust. Good body. Goes down easily enough, a nicely crafted brew that deserves sampling if you come across it.
