From a single 1 pint .9 fl oz bottle into a shaker, pours a very hazy pale yellow that is headed toward chalky/milky white, with a big foamy head that quickly subsides. Green leafy coriander and wheat and oats on the nose, along with a solid but gentle dose of lemon. Taste brings a lot more complexity: first I get some round pear notes and creamy wheat, then midway into things comes a wave of coriander, fennel, white pepper and lemon zest, and then toward the end everything sorts itself out and blends together in a very harmonious way, a little oak/woodsy depth, the lemon and the pepper lingering. At moments I start to look for a little bretty funk, but I don’t think it’s there. Body and mouthful are medium and very full for the low abv, but it’s still very clean and refreshing and not too dry…even a little watery, despite the crisp and lively spice, a balancing act I find interesting, surprising and enjoyable. Both a really interesting taste treat, with some depth, and also very refreshing. I guess could see someone finding it a little lacing in subtlety and aggressive, for the style, but i I think it is fantastic..
