My first big Transient juice bomb! The pour yields a murky beer that is dark orange and headed toward brown. I've not seen a NE-style IPA this color.
The aromas are heavy citrus and pineapple, which is expected, but there's a smidge of diacetyl, which is NOT expected. Rug roh.
Fortunately, the taste is in line with expectations for the style, with delicious citrus flavors up front, and the pineapple bringing things home - and no sign of Mr Diacetyl!!!
The feel is actually the best part of this beer - the feel isn't so pillowy soft that the beer feels watered down, which is welcome.
Overall, it's a very good beer, but it is a bit short of what I expected.

A pint can dated 4/21/17 poured in a Transient pub glass.
Look- Pours a cloudy brownish/gold revealing a small finger of off white foam. It rapidly settles to barely a trace leaving no lacing behind.
Smell- Orange peel, grapefruit, wet corn flakes and malt.
Taste- Orange zest, grapefruit and floral esters.
Feel- Slick and light with a very odd palate sensation. I'm guessing from the carbonation? Stays slick in the finish.
Overall- I'm not sure how much better this would be fresher, but I've enjoyed Transient beers that were two months old. This one seems to be lacking in all categories starting with it's brownish unappealing look. I'm a big fan of Transient and their NE IPA lineup, but this is a bit of a miss. I never thought I'd be saying that the 18th Street version was much better. I read about Transient having issues with a yeast batch used in a past Juice Is Loose release and wonder if this beer used the same yeast? It's still good and drinkable, just short of the excellence I'm accostomed to from this brewery.

A - Pours a turbid burnt orange with a one finger foamy white head. Good amount of soapy lacing.
S - Aroma is mango, guava, grapefruit and toasted malts.
T - The taste follows the aroma. Guava, mango, caramel malts and floral hops with a peppery finish.
M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a smooth dry finish.
O - This is a nice DIPA. The hops and yeast are more prominent than most Transient beers.

The can gushed. Haven't seen that before. First pour was 80% head. The second pour was about 50/50 but drinkable. Really light bodied for a DIPA. I do get a hint of tangerine. Fairly light on the nose and the taste especially for a DIPA that was reportedly double dry hopped. This was a miss for me.

From a 16oz can
It is a very dark, pulpy brown-orange with a frothy cream colored head.
It smells extremely earthy/musty. Like the rind/skin of a cantelope. Also a lot of toasted bread crust, spicy fruit and yeast.
Prickly mango and guava flavors dominate. Also some cantelope, floraly hops, and a sweet dough. I would be a little higher on taste if it were not for a very sweet, granulated sugar on the back end. There is some slight bitterness and resin, but it just ends up being way too sweet.
The body is fluffy and has a rolled oats chewy thickness.

A: Dark orange, totally opaque, off white head
S: Guava, mango, banana, weird yeast character
T: Sweet malt, sugar coated, some tropical fruit, light caramel malt
M: Medium but the carbonation seems a tad higher than the typical creamy style
O: Seems slightly more yeast forward than hop forward like the other great hoppy Transient beers
