Transient! Welcome back. Another 500ML bottle, split with the wife as I continue my quest to get blindingly drunk.
Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Neckbeard Nectar – gotta love when breweries mock their most stalwart, hairy customers. This takes time & warmth to open up but when it does it brings maple, tiniest bit of warmth, more sweetness, & mild barrel on the finish. The bottom of the glass starts to bring a touch of heartburn.
Needs more…something. Everything. Lots of listed ingredients & they’re all hitting about .168. Mild. Pretty good.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. 2018 edition, had 4/12/19.
Pours near black and opaque, with a one inch foamy, fizzy, quickly dissipating head with no lacing. The aroma starts with graphic cinnamon, maple and vanilla, then chocolate, raisins, some caramel and coconut, light bourbon, light tobacco and char. Very nice. Flavors of bourbon, cinnamon, maple, vanilla, chocolate, malt, caramel, some peppers- more as it warms. Smooth, a very good full body, feels a bit fizzy and it’s a little distracting.
Wish I had another case of this. Well defined aromas and flavors, very intense. The cinnamon and vanilla co- star, the barrels are a little subtle but effective. I won’t complain if they make this again.

This might be the most intense flavoring in a stout I have had. So much at such a high intensity! Hit first with bourbon, maple, and vanilla, then a ton of cinnamon, with supporting chocolate, and gingerbread, molasses, then finished by chili peppers, christmas spice with more cinnamon, and booze. Little sips not because of booze or spiciness, but because of intensity, impressive. The mouthfeel really lets all of these flavors shine to their best potential, well constructed with various textures. The wife liked this one

Holy goodness. This is amazing.
I'm talking probably the best stout I've ever had. Absolutely incredible.
Smell is full of chocolate and cinnamon, with hits of vanilla. Taste wise, it's the same. Chocolate and cinnamon with good amounts of vanilla, and the peppers on the back end. By all means, it is not spicy or hot whatsoever.
Fantastic. I had Gray Skies and thought nothing could top this, but I was wrong. Absolutely blown away
