Great head production and excellent retention. Very nice uneven and clumpy lacing. Body is hazy and almost opaque, a dark orangeish mango-flesh color.

Lovely Citra-dominant aroma: bright herbs, modest dankness, tropical and citrus fruit, all atop a crackery pale malt base.

Very smooth and sweet on the palate; juicy doesn't begin to do it justice. Melon, mango, peach, and pineapple; hints of lemon and orange; mild dankness growing on the second half. Honey, mild herbs, cream, white dough, biscuit.

Very low bitterness. Creamy and smooth. Still lively up front. Drinks like juice.

Pours a nice hazy pineapple color with a dense off-white head that provides excellent lacing. The nose has ripe tangerine, lemon, and (in a surprise) stone fruit. Very interesting.

The stone fruit provides an earthy flavor but it is the lemon flavor which sets this beer apart from the usual juice bombs, imparting a brightness at the end of the taste that has you reaching for another drink.

Really well done by my favorite brewery in my neck of the nape.

T - The taste is orange, peach, grapefruit, lime, sweet malts and a light bitter hop finish.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.

O - A really nice NEPA. Big sweet tropical fruits with a very light hop bite in the finish. Super crushable.

Had on tap. Hazy orangey yellow with a thick white head. Great citrus in the nose, especially grapefruit and orange, has some honey, and mild hops to round out. Taste matches the smell, has impeccable balance between hop bitterness and fruit juiciness. Not dynamic, but clearly a cut above your regular good dipa. Feel is thick but bright, hazy and again well balanced.

Really good beer - maybe the best from my recent trip through Chicago, especially from the hazier ipa offerings that I was able to grab. This citra and cascade ddh would not be classified as a double by many other breweries and drinks much more like a 6-7 abv beer. Really bright citrus and orange zest on the nose with a hint of malt sweetness doing a little marmalade thing. The taste isn’t necessarily complex, but it hits a few key notes - juice blast up front with a nice drying linger. Body carries the flavors well.

This beer shows that some of the older hop varieties are all you need to make a top notch hazy ipa if you engineer your beer correctly.
