Appearance is a dull, almost rusty copper with little to no head, implying low carbonation levels. Smell is fairly generic and typical for a spontaneously fermented beer. Some sour and funk on the nose, but more subtle, not overpowering at all. Taste is where this beer starts to shine (which if I could only pick one attribute to shine in, taste would obviously be it). Nice bit of funk, and mildly tart, with an interesting mix of flavors. Very smooth and easy drinking. Very low carbonation levels. Feel is definitely a bit thin for my tastes.

After the very high acidity and tartness of the fruited version I was very wary of this one, I shouldn't have been. Yes it is tart finishing and in that has some acid that builds, but it won't give you heartburn. Great oak in the nose, with barnyard funk, lemon, and wildflower, but it does not last long at all. Taste dives into the oak depths with only accents of funk and tart lemon to go with. The oak is beautiful but monotone. Overall good when in the mood for tart oak
