Released 6/18/20; drank 8/2/20 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge, noisy tan head; almost no lace.
Clove, vanilla, milk chocolate, mild cider & faint peanut butter notes in the nose. A Belgian vibe, so far.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Clove, milk chocolate, vanilla & mild cider flavors up front; mild peanut butter & booze heat notes on the finish.
Maybe I'm way off, but this seems to have some Belgian yeast influencing the flavors; a nice Belgian dark ale mixed with US pastry stout culture. Odd, but ultimately enjoyable.

Pours black with a dense, dark tan head that evacuates the premises fairly quickly. The nose is roasty char, rich cocoa, and an almost peanut butter aroma.
The roasty char and rich cocoa flavors are spot on as this beer warms on the taste, and there’s a peanut flavor as well, I just wish the sweet (courtesy of the lactose) was dialed back a smidge.
This is great as it is, but it could’ve been world-class if the peanut flavor had been a bit more forward and the sweetness was dialed back a bit. Still an outstanding beer, IMHO.
