I shared a 2020 bottle of this beer with at my Brah-in-law's house. It poured an opaque dark with thin khaki ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had subtle mix of roast, caramel, chocolate and bourbon notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast malt base balanced by bitter dark chocolate and caramel presence with hints of bourbon. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer....rivals Goose Bourbon County.

Pours pitch black color. Thin, fizzy weak mocha colored head. No residual head. Lots of little debris is noted in the beer both floating on the top of the beer and coating the glass as the beer is consumed.

Aroma has notes of roasted malts, spicy rye, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, and oak, with just a hint of sea salt.

Taste follows the nose with notes of spicy rye malts, roasted malts, bourbon, oak, maple syrup, and sweet caramel and vanilla notes. Underlying that are lighter notes of sea salt, cocoa, and maple. Rich, decadent and complex.

Feel is medium bodied, smooth, warming. Moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish.

An outstanding barrel aged stout from Transient - definitely lives up to the high bar I have come to expect from them.

Appearance - The beer poured a beer black color with a mocha colored head.

Smell - The nose was like a chocolate and caramel desert. As it warmed, the maple became much more prominent.

Taste - Warm chocolate notes led the way, followed by caramel and salt. A touch of maple sweetness was in the background as the beer warmed. There was a warm boozy finish that lingered in the throat.

Mouthfeel - The beer was full bodied with light carbonation.

Overall - Aging this for 8 months made it delightful.

Pours onyx black with a dark tan head that dissipates in seconds. The nose is a beautiful boozy mix of cocoa, caramel, maple syrup - and did I mention booze, as in bourbon? Wow.

The taste is led by the cocoa, which is rich and decadent, and there’s a heaping helping of maple syrup, but it’s the barrel that’s the star of this massive stout, with the booze, vanilla, and oak flavors actually providing balance for the sweetness at the front of the palate.

The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, perfect for this big, boozy beer. The Transient BA stout game is on point.

A - Pours pitch black with a razor thin tan head. No lacing.

S - Aroma is dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla and bourbon.

T - The taste is dark chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, vanilla, light maple, oak and heavy bourbon.

M - Full body with medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish.

O - Definitely a slow sipper. Nice mix of sweetness and huge bourbon notes. Nicely done.

Poured a black body with no head or lace. The aroma is boozy, very boozy, with the bourbon barrels really giving off some alcohol along with some hints of wood and dark fruits. Thick, sticky, boozy, a mild vanilla sweetness coming from said booze, with minor notes of dark fruits like plums, a somewhat muted maple and chocolate taste as well. Beer has some boozy heat on the finish and is a slow sipper worth trying.
