Zwic Flair from Transient Artisan. 16 fl oz can picked up at Horrocks, Grand Rapids, MI, 23/08/25 - $ 4.01 (including tax and deposit)/$ 0.251/fl oz. Reviewed 02/10/25, review 3601. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. On room temperature shelf at store, stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 45.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 51.6 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), slight haze.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), slight haze. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum two cm, aggressive center pour). White, high density, average retention, leaving a 0.5 – 0.7 cm crown and a partial cap.
Lacing – Poor. A single arc of near-microscopic bubbles and a half-dozen small islands are all that remain of the head,
Aroma – 3.5 – Very weak hops, no malt, no alcohol.
Flavor – 4 – Starts slightly sweet with weak hop flavor, no malt, no alcohol (4.5 % ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming. Ends slightly sweet.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Watery: Soft but lively carbonation.
Style: Basically, follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated container) Uncredited art work. Decent zwickelbier, a style I rarely see in this country.

I love a good beer pun. This is a can conditioned kellierbier.
Pours a crystalline gold in color. Some foaming, with a bright noble-hop aroma. It’s crisp, with a light finish. I will say this pops when poured into a glass. Drinking from the can doesn’t do this justice.

Pours a beautiful pretty much crystal clear dark shade of gold, head settles to thin thin layers of see through white islands with a rind around the glass.
Aroma is instantly bread like with some grain and husk notes mixed in, along with just a touch of sweet.
The taste mirrors the nose very closely...very nice bread crust like bread notes, rustic like. The grain notes show themselves much less than expected, the sweetness shows in the absolute smallest way like a watered down drop of floral like honey.
Great feel to this one, the carbonation is very present but soft and it finishes incredibly clean, semi dry, I'd say pretty much zero bitterness.

This beer pours a slightly hazy golden straw color with a soapy, sudsy white head that fits the unfiltered look expected from a zwickelbier. The nose is dominated by bready aromas that are reminiscent of a spicy wheat bread. There’s also an herbal hop aroma that takes on an almost estery character.
The beady flavor is forward and delicious, with that slightly estery hop flavor on the finish that is accompanied by a crisp mouthfeel. This is a really nice zwickelbier that I’d drink on the regular if Transient offered it. Very flavorful and refreshing.
