Pours black and settles black in the glass with a sudsy, sizzling mocha colored head that fades pretty quickly. Looks great in the glass.
The nose features LOADS of milk chocolate, vanilla, and maple, and there’s also some roasty coffee and a bit barrel. Very nice.
The taste features the milk chocolate, vanilla, and maple, and the roasty coffee and barrel are more prominent, with a nice oaky flavor and alcohol warming at the back of the palate. Delicious stuff.
The mouthfeel is very full and edges towards creamy. This is really well done by Transient, IMHO.

Extremely experimental with the chocolate liqueur barrel. Funky maple mixed in.

Pours thick oily black, fizzy almost instantly dissapearing light brown head. No head, no lacing.
Nose is rich liquid chocolate, some noticeable char and a little bit of alcohol burn. Hints of some vanilla like sweetness.
Taste really leans into the chocolate, syrup like, and the liquor taste definitely is there. Little vanilla creamy flavor with some roasty bitter coffee.
Big body beer, low and appropriate carbonation, low roast bitterness, creamy on the tongue with little bit of sweetness; the alcohol is not as present as the nose would suggest, quite gentle on the warming sensation.
This one is like a bourbon infused liquid chocolate truffle with some vanilla bean. That’s what it tastes like to me at least. For being so chocolate forward it is balanced and not overwhelming.

Had on tap. Pitch black oily pour with no head. Aromas of whiskey, oak, big semi-sweet chocolate, coffee and vanilla, kind of muddled, maple is maybe faint as it warms. Taste misses the mark, the maple is here but smoky, vanilla and chocolate saddle up with it to create a sickly sweet core that then the booze feeds off of and the coffee alone isn't enough to cut, all elements separate from each other as the sip continues with some burnt earth in the middle. Just doesn't work as was promised. Feel is warm verging on hot, thick, chewy and generally unrefined. Disappointing
