A - Pours pitch black with a thin fizzy brown head. Cascading sticky lacing.
S - Aroma is banana, vanilla and maple syrup.
T - The taste is overripe bananas, vanilla bean, maple syrup, chocolate and a nice barrel presence in the finish.
M - Full body with low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a sticky dry finish.
O - Really solid. Transient doesn’t really miss with their barrel aged stout game. Another winner.

Big, sweet pastry stout. Tons of wild banana and maple/vanilla swirl.

Pours thick as motor oil and dark as night, no real visible carbonation but a small layer of soda like head forms and disappears quickly. If you swirl the glass around it has the appearance of bourbon in a glass, thin sheen of alcohol.
Nose is like a rich chocolate fudge cake, which is interesting cause there is no chocolate in this thing yet the base takes the show from the adjuncts. There is a slight hint of alcohol heat as well as a little bit of banana that show as it warms up.
Taste is again a blast of rich dark chocolate cake, the vanilla really lets itself be shown in the form of giving this a creamy chocolate flavor. Same little bit of banana shows itself on the finish.
This beer is viscous, low carbonation, a nice bitter chocolate like finish and a touch of sweetness that to me probably comes from the vanilla. Absolutely zero in your face heat, there is just a slight nice warming sensation like a warm hug.
As far as adjunct stouts go this is quite good, it is definitely a dessert beer but it actually has quite a bit of balance to it.
