From a tall boy into La Fin du Monde tulip, pours a rich black with a crown of khaki head that dissipates, with minimal lacing, though the vestiges of the crown keep momentarily coating the side of the glass every time I drink. Good roasted chocolate malt nose, with maybe a little vanilla and definitely some caramel, all of which carries through into the taste. The last half of each sip also brings some lingering rich coffee notes, with just a faint hint of bitterness. Mouthful is kind of watery but somehow also smooth, soft and full, and again, there’s just a hint of bitter liveliness at the margins. All in all, this is quite good, and I’d be happy to have it again.

Pretty good every day stout. Toasty charred malts is the most prominent flavor, then oats, and some chocolate malts and bitter hops.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours black with light brown head. Quickly dissipates. The nose is wonderful. Oatmeal, chocolate, vanilla, milk, slight coffee, and a nice roasty backbone. A very slight red wine note comes through after a minute, but the oatmeal and chocolate dominate here.

The taste doesn't necessarily mirror the nose. A bit more roasty and bitter on the taste. The milk chocolate has transformed into a dark bitter chocolate. Nice malts, burnt toffee, coffee, and an earthy note to cap it off.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with good carbonation. Overall, a really enjoyable oatmeal stout.

Poured looking like coffee and ended up being stout black in the glass, a 2” tan head capped for a few minutes. A sliver of head remains but very little lacing.
The aroma is charred malts and burnt coffee. But then my nose is defective so I’m not a good judge.
The taste, well I have The Poet as a local oatmeal stout that sets the bar, and taste wise, this one is more like a coffee stout than oatmeal. Char and roasted malts and coffee. Tasty, and for the abv, surprisingly full of flavor.
The feel was again, closer to a coffee stout than oatmeal. Not that it was harsh, it just wasn’t smooth like the ones I am used to.
Glad I tried this, it’s good, but I think I will stick with their BA stouts (which are amazing)

Thanks to Ovaltine for this one, part of NBS BIF #15 silliness. 16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected solid black color, with 1/3 inch of tan head that had moderate retention and very low lacing.

The aroma had the expected roast and earthy grains of the style.

Same on the tongue, with the roast being dominant, but not approaching coffee.

The body seemed a bit thin for the style, was smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish that dried out fairly quickly.

Drinkability was good, a nice quaff.

Overall, a beer that will certainly scratch the itch if you're in the mood for th estyle. Worth a shot if you see it.

Pours black, with a very slow forming head, I almost thought it was flat but then it’s slowly formed and built up. Beautiful light brown color to the head with some decent lacing.

Very strong nose of bitter dark chocolate, burnt toast, a little hint of some dark fruit, and just a hint of some sort of spiced bread.

Taste is very prominently dark chocolate/dark roast coffee for me, there is a prominent char/burnt note that really reminds me of Kalamazoo stout. The difference being this one is a little smoother and softer on the mouthfeel, I'm guessing the oatmeal (based on the name).

Beer drinks quite smooth, a little low on carb, it sort of reminds me of drinking cask so maybe this is intentional. It finishes nice and dry and has a very strong roast bitterness that lingers, which I am really enjoying. Just wow the aftertaste and feel just never go away, well after the sip it is like I'm still drinking it.

Pours black with a bit of mahogany brown on the edges and sports a thick, creamy tan head. Definitely looks the part of an oatmeal stout. Nice char and milk chocolate notes on the nose - and is that rye I detect?

On the taste, yes, that is rye, adding a nice spicy flavor to the creamy milk chocolate and char flavors. This is delicious - and crammed full of flavor at 5% ABV.

Surprisingly full mouthfeel for a low ABV beer, I need more Broatmeal.
