For transient this is a bit disappointing. Perhaps just not what I was expecting. It is super boozey and barrel-forward. Still good compared to what most breweries put out.

A - Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head. Light sticky lacing.
S - Aroma is dark chocolate, marshmallow and borubon barrel.
T - The taste is dark chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla, maple, oak and a light bourbon heat in the finish.
M - Full body with medium low carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a crisp drying finish.
O - Another winner from Transient. Not overly sweet with the with barrel shining in the finish.

Going on the 500ML solo hike tonight. OK. I’ve already hiked today. OK, I planned to but didn’t. I’m sitting down. Only going to get up to sleep. Or pee. That’s important.
The pour is black with a fizzy brownish head that I can actually hear, like a bowl of Rice Krispies with milk added. The nose is very sweet with a touch of bourbon.
Sam – Barrel Aged is a case study in imbalance. Marshmallow sweetness runs rampant over the palate to the point that after a few ounces I started worrying about my gums. Bourbon is present in heat only; no taste. Now the top of my mouth is starting to wither. Two ounces in a shot glass would have been fine.
Transient has made some stellar stouts. This is a stellar example of imprecise use of additions destroying a beer’s potential. Terrible brew.
