Courtesy of @HIGHPA. Another absolute banger from Transient Artisans. The Weller and BLis are the absolute stars in the profile. They just pop in your mouth, fresh, wet barrel, bourbon spiciness with a hit of dark maple on top. The peanut comes across in the aroma, and is a genteel character in the taste. The vanilla adds a nice creaminess to the peanut. I’m usually cautious about marshmallow in stouts, but it adds mouthfeel without any cloying or artificial flavors. This has a fair bit more carbonation than many / most of the big Transient stouts I’ve tried, and it’s perfect for this one. It’s so smooth, no hit alcohol or warming, just pure flavor. The 14% ABV will catch up soon though. The only real problem I have with Transient is that they make phenomenol beers but put them in these tiny 500 ml bottles. Bomber should be minimal size. Magnum preferred.
