Banging. Weller was an excellent choice for this. The vanilla is a solid vein, while the maple plays harmonics. Sophisticated.

Pours black and settles pure light-swallowing black in the glass with a sudsy mocha colored head that sizzles. Beautiful impy stout.
The nose has immediate notes of bourbon and oak, plus a substantial maple note, and rich vanilla for good measure. Drool.
The bourbon and oak are forward on the taste, and the bourbon lingers to the back of the palate, with a substantial warming that welcomes the rich maple and vanilla flavors that appear mid-palate. This is exceptionally well done, IMHO.
The mouthfeel is rich and creamy as expected. Transient really nailed this, again IMHO.

5 oz. pour at the brewer, opaque black with brown head, minimal lacing. Scent of sweet black licorice and baker’s chocolate. Taste of sweet but bitter chocolate, aftertaste of lingering licorice. Light on the tongue, alcohol well hidden. Tasty.
