Pours a pure black color with a body that looks rich in the glass and sports a mocha colored head that sizzles a bit and evaporates quickly. Beautiful BA impy stout.

The nose features a nice bit of barrel, milk chocolate, vanilla, and maple - lots of maple. The taste is an exact replica of the taste with the maple overwhelming the other flavors a bit, save for the substantial alcohol warming at the back of the palate courtesy of the barrel.

The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, fitting the gravity of this beer perfectly. If it was a bit more balanced (take away some of the sweetness from the maple), this would be world class, IMHO.

My experiences with Transient BA stouts has ranged from blech to wow, yet I keep buying the expensive little bastards. There’s something wrong with me. 500ML bottle while switching between MI:4 & a Meg Myers concert. I might get to bed late tonight.

Black beer that’s been dead all day, with a nose that’s light sweetness & roast.

Sacrilicious clubs down the average. Thick, rich, with a .410 blast of bourbon backed by a lingering tongue of syrup that’s bordering on the divine. Maple & malt couple to create a sweetness that my wonderful dental hygienist Gen would not approve of. Touch of chocolate (unless that’s the echo of three “fun size” chocolates I ate today – who thought tagging tiny candy bars with that label would make them acceptable? Assholes). Only that sweetness would keep me from downing a few of these.

Great base coupled with a fine use of the two primaries – maple + bourbon. Excellent beer & one of the best Transient stouts I’ve had to date.
