A - Pours pitch black with a thin tan head, light oily lacing.

S - Aroma is black coffee, hazelnuts and vanilla.

T - The taste is vanilla, hazelnuts, rich black coffee, caramel and a huge burst of warming bourbon barrel.

M - Full body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a slick dry finish.

O - Really tasty.

Jan 2024 opening. Amazing. Poured cool to a Blackberry Farm Brewing glass. Color is solid dark mahogany brown. Little to no carbonation noted in what looks like a motor oil pool. The hazelnut aroma hits from a foot away. The flavor is sublime. The bourbon gives a quick flash up front, cutting through a heavy hazel and coffee malty brute of a stout. It’s everything I could want from an imperial stout as I sit tired on the back porch, 18 degrees outside, after a day of shoveling, snow blowing, and moving a day bed. This is another transient win, along with the collaborators Recycled Brewing and Common Dialect brewing. If there is more, I would buy more.

Poured a black body with minimal head. Some notes of cocoa and coffee but mostly the aroma is dominated by hazelnut aroma. Smooth like silk thanks to a woodiness and hints of chocolate that come across as milk chocolate. A modicum of coffee flavor is present, and the coffee and chocolate help keep the hazelnut from being both too dry and too cloying (like a hazelnut liqueur I shall not mention). Beer is surprisingly easy to drink and finishes nice and not too dry with well-hidden booze.
