this place is really awesome, worth navigating their limited open hours to check it out for sure. its a neat space, apparently behind where their taproom used to be, now sort of under a big building with a basement kind of feel to it, but the space is actually pretty open, as it kind of spills out into the parking lot, some outside area, but i posted up at the bar, which has some neat decor behind it, the feel and look of a working brewery all around, and a bunch of hippie types hanging out here, some working some not, really relaxed vibe, and i got to chat long and serious with a brewer, who was the absolute man! really made the experience cool. all the beer was fantastic, some better than others, but all of it really solid. i liked the midnight marmot stout, the whiskey barrel aged barleywine, and all of the hoppy stuff really well. they have barrels everywhere and some pretty clever sours in the works, i bet we will be seeing a lot more of these types of beers from them in the near future, which sure is exciting. i like the relaxed low key vibe of the place, i was impressed with the beers, and was blown away by how awesome the people all were here. definitely a great place to hang out, and i cant imagine a trip to spokane without at least a couple of beers in here, one of my favorites i have been to around town so far! the service was excellent, real friendly and cool, i loved my time here!

Note: River City's Taproom no longer exists, as the brewery's now-former owner felt it didn't get enough foot traffic to justify the expense of running it (it was a separate space from the brewery in the same building, with both spaces rented separately). River City opens up their brewery space once each month for guests, often with a food truck and/or live music since the taproom's closure.

Incidently, the former taproom is now the downtown branch of Steadyflow Growler House, so there's still plenty of beers available there,

I visited River City on a recent trip to Spokane and it's a nice place. Kind of a neat, music-themed d├ęcor with a welcoming bar and good service. When I visited, there were 8 taps available plus a randall and a guest cider. The beer overall is decent, and River City is a good stop to make when checking out the downtown Spokane brewery scene.
