Hoppy Dragon

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, mild mixed tropical fruit and some dry grassiness. Flavor is dry caramel malt, citrus and grassy hops, grapefruit, lemon, green pepper, noble hops grassiness and some woodiness and mint in the finish. Assertive minty bitterness in the finish too. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This version lists Magnum, Mosaic and Styrian Wolf as the hop bill, so probably a different hop profile. A rather busy and not that cohesive hop character, but lots of interesting flavors fleeting through, like green pepper mint and some noble hop grassiness. The main flavor is lemony citrus. Won me over with fine finishing bitterness; not quite a West Coast profile, but fun to drink. Started with a bit of "huh?", but grew on me as I drank. A bit idiosyncratic.
