On tap at the LA Beer Week Kickoff Festival held at Exposition Park in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours an opaque brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted malt, cocoa powder, coffee bean, and coconut aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, coffee bean, brewed coffee, and coconut flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a coconut presence that works slightly better with the base beer in the taste.
Serving type: on tap.
