12oz can. Pours a deep black color with a creamy tan head and some lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and grain. Taste is similar to the aroma. roasted malt bitterness that lingers into the finish. Full body, thick and creamy. Bit sweet but that comes with the style. Tasty.

I received this stout from @swenny916 in a BIG box. Canned 1/30/2018 and poured into snifter. It pours almost black with dark walnut hues, and a half finger of medium mocha-colored head that dissipated slowly leaving a thin sheen of lacing on the glass. The nose features roasted malt, rich chocolate, freshly-brewed coffee, earthy peat, nuts, and a whiff of vanilla. The flavors are bold but it's not overly sweet. The initial taste is coffee but it is quickly supplanted by rich milk chocolate and nuts, and hints of vanilla and tobacco. It finishes with moderate bitterness. The feel is rather thin for an Imperial Stout, with low carbonation, and a warming, potent 9% ABV (per the can). Overall, this is a very good chocolate/coffee stout. I think it improves as it settles in the glass. I think a lot of breweries wish they could produce a stout this good!

Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip glass (3 months old). Appearance is fairly thick and mostly black with some brown coloring around the edges. Light brown head is 1/3 fingers thick. Smell is an abundance of freshly roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, almonds, lactose/cream, and sweet toffee. Taste has a lot more rich chocolate flavor and less roasted coffee. There is a good amount of sweetness that comes through with just a little bitterness. Alcohol is barely noticeable. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a nice crisp finish (medium to full in body).
Overall this is a delicious and fairly drinkable coffee/chocolate stout. There is a ton of roasted coffee and chocolate flavor that work very well together. It is not overly sweet, but I would probably prefer slightly less lactose. Regardless, this is a very good beer worth seeking out.

Black in color with no light penetration. There's a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering about two thirds of the top. The nose is dark and bitter roasted coffee, but it is a bit faint. I'm tasting dark and bitter roasted coffee and dark malt and it improves as it warms. The mouth is very dry and lightly sticky.

Pours straight black out of the can with only a thin fizz of caramel head rising to the top. Pour was straight into the glass at a moderate rate. Aroma is rich with coffee, caramel, and roasted and toasted malts. It's certainly very lively. Flavor profile opens with a swell of roasted and toasted malts carrying notes of caramel, chocolate, and coffee. The finish is a little bitter, but ends with notes of chocolate and coffee. There is a nice dynamic of flavors here. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a smooth, creaminess to it. No graininess whatsoever. Overall, a very pleasant stout that drinks smooth with a huge array of flavors. The coffee is quite nice in this one.
Served in a 12oz snifter.

From a can, this brew is black, thick, and intense. The head is tan and slim. The smell is full with coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and figs. The taste is intense. Lots of complexity...fruit, roasted and toasted malt, bitterness, and warmth. Full in body and very drinkable. Excellent.

Pours dark with half a finger of pale brown foam. Smell is rich with light roast coffee, fruit. Taste is sweet chocolate first followed by slight bitterness and finishes bittersweet. Feel is frothy and creamy, medium-light body. Overall this stout is decadent and extremely enjoyable with only slight bitterness from coffee and lasting bittersweet finish that sticks to your tongue. At the current price point this is a must-buy.
