Pours a beautiful caramel brown, with a beige head; nice lacing.

Strong aroma, heavy on the alcohol smell (esters?); nice.

Very smooth, and great flavor: malty, sweet: brown sugar?

Really good mouthfeel, nice carbonation. As another reviewer stated, "Crisp and sharp mouthfeel. "

This is what I imagine a great brown ale should taste like. Way to go Logboat!

 

Deep brown in color with minimal light penetration. There's a fingernail of brown on top. Beautiful aroma of caramel and dark malt is present. The taste is very chocolate and caramel forward, with dark malt and alcohol in the back of the palate. The mouth is warm with alcohol and very dry.

Pours a black color. 1/2 inch head of a tan color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of strong roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, hint of piney hops, and yeast. Fits the style of an English Brown Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. There is a pleasant warmth from the alcohol as well. Tastes of strong sweet malt, roasted malt, yeast, slight oatmeal, alcohol, hint of dark chocolate, hint of dark citrus, and slight piney hops. Overall, good appearance and aroma, but body, blend, and feel are quite good.

 

Pours out a rich mahogany color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, toffee and caramel. Nice sweet caramel flavor with a boozy bite. Crisp and sharp mouthfeel. This another very fine beer from Logboat.
