12oz can dated 11/19/21 and oozed like ink into a pint glass shows a dark, dark mahogany brown, opaque body boasting a strong 1/2" head of cream colored foam that eventually recedes to remote islands and an edge-hugging ring with spotted lacing.
Aroma is roasty malt, mostly coffee, but a sweet aroma joins.
Flavor is mostly roasted coffee bean, and the sweet aroma develops into a cocoa flavor in the background. No off flavors.
Mouthfeel is full and silky, if not creamy.
Overall a solid example of the style

This is very nice release from one of my favorite local (Missouri) breweries. I've been enjoying their Snapper for a while now, but I tried this for the first time this weekend at a tasting in my local grocery store of all places?
I've come never to expect much from American born stouts, as most of them are going for that "Coffee" flavor, which I can't stand. I love my coffee, dark and thick, and I like my stouts, but just not in the same glass. Anyway, for anyone out there who is like me, this is a great non-coffee stout. More like a Porter in some ways than a stout as Sabojik has already stated in his review, which I consider spot on, so just read his review, and forget all the others, including my own, if you want to get an accurate idea of what this brew is all about.
Cheers!

Can from mix 6-pack in KC, poured into Boulevard pint a week later. Post-work, pre-dinner beer. Didn’t disappoint! Great head, full body.

Poured from a 12oz can dated from just over two weeks ago, this is a crisp black stout with a minimal tan head and moderate lacing. Smells and tastes primarily of grain, particularly malt, with subtle chocolate undertones and little else on the palate. Not quite a traditional "stout" in mouthfeel (really more of a boozy porter) but still quite enjoyable, either to sip or smash a sixer of.
Having had just about every wide-release Logboat beer multiple times --- particularly Snapper and Dark Matter --- this beer, to me, feels like what Dark Matter *should* be as a "porter." It's also much less airy on the front end and less metallic on the back end than Dark Matter tends to be, which is a plus. And the higher ABV definitely makes it worth more bang for your buck.

From an aluminum can, this brew is wonderful. I wouldn't call it a stout, but it is a very tasty brew. Dark amber...reddish in hue...medium off-white head. The taste is malty, roasted, malty, and sweet. Full in body. Flavorful and nice.

Black in color with moderate penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of beige around the rim and covering nearly all of the top. The aroma is of dark malt. I taste some dark malt and a touch of roasted barley. The mouth is lightly sticky and dry.

12oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a large, fluffy light brown head of foam. It smelled of coffee, chocolate and some burnt toast. Good roasty flavor with chocolate, toffee and coffee.
