On tap at the brewery this beer was a tangerine copper color with an off-white head. The retention was poor and there was little lacing. The aroma was a very light blend of chocolate malt, caramel malt and nuts. The flavors were similar but a little ill-defined. I tasted mostly assorted English malts and enough bitterness from the hops to balance it but I wasn't impressed. Just sort of a generic British session beer. The mouthfeel was watery, the carbonation a little too low and the body medium. It would indeed make a good session beer, but I didn't much care for it.

Review from notes. Sampled on tap 12/8.
A: Pours a cloudy dark ruby color with a film of a head. Not much retention and no lacing.
S: Slight mild fruity notes with a good malty background.
T/M: Chocolate with more caramel malt notes detected but blended, which was interesting. Sugary presence with a grassy and fruit hoppyness. Dryer, dull finish. Toasted grain notes also are detected here. Good balance of malt and hops.
D: Pretty drinkable with a good body. Well balanced ale. I would have this again if I was at the pub--I had 2 of them.
