Bought a bomber last time I was in Norwich. Beautiful brewery--stop by if you get the chance.
This beer is pretty dark--darker than I expected for a dubbel--but with a touch of red. The head is about two fingers, but you've got to pour hard to release it properly. Good retention and nice lacing as the beer disappears. Smell is like your average Belgian. You get the fruits and that distinctive yeasty aroma, but it also gives you an alcohol punch. The taste of this beer is stupendous! Hits hard with banana notes, which dominate the flavor but subtleties abound in the body of this beer. It's difficult to describe but it is a huge beer! Please try it if you get the chance and do a better job of describing it! Too much going on for me to really grab on to it and dig in. Though dark, this dubbel is fairly light on the palate. It provides the signature alcohol warming, and the aftertaste stays true to the body. All in all a real hit for Jasper Murdock's, though I've come to expect it at this point. I haven't been disappointed by a single one of this Norwich brewery's beers.

Pours a deep copper red with decent tan bubbly head for over 8%. Reduces to a thin bubbly film. Color looks a little too saturated.
Smells of Belgian yeast, ripe banana sweetness, bubble gum banana flavor, rich caramely malts with a touch of hop citrus and a little wheat or straw undertone.
Tastes of bitter banana with full Dubbel yeastiness. Sweet, rich carmel malts with bitter citris hop bite. Follows the nose well, balanced and smooth.
Nice feel medium to heavy body, a bit light on carbonation which is typical of the brew and brewer using a more European style.
Overall glad to have tried this one although I do like to try anything Dubbel, would buy again.
