the only beer i had from these guys while i was in scotland, didnt love it, but picked it up as a single off a warm shelf if i remember right, and it certainly seemed like freshness was the main issue. its another low alcohol ipa made in scotland, tons and tons of session strength beer here, its awesome. an attempt at modernity here, with talus hops in this i think, but its a little overbalanced on the malt side, somewhat oxidized, and frankly more bitter than aromatic or flavorful on the hops, although not crazy bitter either, just less actual hop personality than this could handle with this grain build, a little bit lacking. lighter copper to bronze type color on it, relatively clear, big bubbles in it but only a short white head after a minute. a sweeter nose, toast and graham cracker with light honey floral character and berry type hop fruitiness, a little navel orange maybe, some grassiness, subtle but not invisible fermentation profile here too. the flavor is similar, lightly metallic to me, malt before hops, lightly tangy almost but more from fade and maybe tannins than from any kind of infection, this is tired but its not messed up. a flash of what the talus brings before the bitterness kicks up, citrus and berry together, then kind of bready and bitter, then minerals, some wet paper in the aftertaste. i like it being as robust as it is for being this low in alcohol, which was actually pretty prevalent over there, but this was a bit degraded and more malty than a low alcohol ipa needs to be, good carbonation though and hearty in an appealing way, just maybe didnt catch it right...
