Thick black pour, small tan head fades quickly. Snot machine get chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malts. Taste buds get similar sensations. Thick, smooth texture. I would go so far as to say this is excellent.

Appearance - The beer was oily black with a little visible carbonation and a small ring of tan bubbles at the top of the pour.
Smell - The nose had chocolate and a definite presence from the barrel.
Taste - Much like the nose, the initial impression was chocolate and barrel. It was not hot, and pleasantly smooth. From the hops, there was a nice citrus presence. It was not overpowering. The sticky body lingered till the finish.
Mouthfeel - With little carbonation, and a sticky body, the profile lingered.
Overall - This was a real high end barrel aged stout.

Had on tap. Midnight black with a brown head that settles into thick brown ring. Bourbon, molasses, robust oak, fudge, maple, coffee, char, and raisin all smash together in a powerful nose. Taste opens up the chocolate fudge and bourbon a lot, robust wood, coffee, char, with contrasting vanilla, slight maple, and a considerable amount of sweeter dark fruit. Finishes boozy and on the sweeter edge, but stops before getting into complete dessert territory. Feel is boozy, big but not too heavy, decent viscosity but scarily drinkable.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 12/24/16, also had on tap at the bottle release 7/30/16.
Pours an opaque, deep brown, looks oily, only a flash of carbonation, with no head and no lacing. The smell is bourbon, malt, cocoa, chocolate, raisins, toffee, brown sugar, light coffee. Smells pretty damn good. The taste starts with lots of bourbon and malt, then cocoa, caramel chocolate, some coffee, light vanilla, light alcohol as it warms. This has a terrific flavor. It's a bit on the sweet side, which I'm fine with. Insanely smooth for the ABV, a solid, full body, an appropriate level of carbonation.
An extremely well crafted beer, with a great balance between the barrel and the malt. Bold flavors. Great job of mostly hiding the alcohol.
