A - Pours a hazy dark orange, with a medium white head that fades to a thin cap, with extensive fine bubble lacing.
S - Bubble gum, pine and lemony citrus, with just a bit of earthiness in the hops.
T - Opens with bright citrus fruitiness, a middle of malty sweetness, and a finish of tea tannic bitterness that closes with a hit of acidity.
M - Brisk carbonation, subtle weight, and a slightly dry finish.
O - This may be tagged as a NEIPA, but I think this has more in common with old school East Coast IPA, malty with a hit of resin and citrus hops. Solid, regardless.

Traded for this a while ago, as the semi-legible date on the beautiful, purple-tinged can read 3/2/17. I have no idea if the month and date are right but yes, this was old and yes, it took a while for me to get to it. Regardless of that, I had it in my basement stash the whole time and was really amazed at how well this poured and how fun this was to drink! I love it when beers catch me off-guard and surprise me, and that was certainly the case with this one...
The pour to this was good - a murky, muted goldenrod with a hint of light seeping in around the edges. Plenty of webbed, bubbly head topped this off as the lacing left behind was concentrated near the top of my glass; in the form of two thin and rocky rings. Lots of citrus and lime in the nose with some garlic spice underneath that, as the taste had some tangerine tang, herbal notes, and a bit of an exotic undertone to it - think lychee or jack fruit. Incredibly smooth, nicely carbonated, and balanced out with a hint of cracker malt, this was fun stuff that felt like a New England IPA without trying too hard or being overly one-dimensional.
The amount of alcohol was spot-on as I could hardly feel it and since this was close to being a session beer, I would have easily cracked another one had there been another can available. Slightly slick and bitter and only having a small amount of sediment at the bottom, this had so much juice and balance to it that I couldn't help but sing it's praises enough. It's beers like this that keep me pushing beyond my boundaries to see what else is out there!

Canned 1/6/17; drank 1/15/17 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big, noisy off-white head; frothy lace.
Orange peel, peach & mild pine notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Pine & grapefruit flavors up front; creamed wheat smoothness on the finish.
This looks & smells the part of a NE IPA, but the taste was odd & a bit off. Interesting, but not one I'll buy again.

The look was hazy with a slight fruity aroma. Taste was fruity up front but it did not linger. Some bitterness with a dry finish. Overall this was okay, but not up to par with some of the juicy NE IPA's I've had. Then again the price point was far less than some of the NE IPA's I've had lately so there's that. For the price it's an okay beer.
