22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 3/30/17, had 5/3/17.
Pours dark, oily looking and opaque, with a small darker foam head and oily spotty lacing. Aromas of medium roast malts, chocolate, cocoa, some caramel, a nutty smell that’s more like hazelnut as it warms, light vanilla. The taste also leads with the malt, then dark chocolate, cocoa, some caramel, light vanilla, some molasses. A fair amount of bitterness up front. The hazelnuts Are far less noticeable. Very smooth, creamy, a solid medium to full body, appropriately carbonated.
Solid effort, well executed. Great aroma, thanks to the addition of the hazelnuts. Easy drinking for the high ABV. Fun one.

Not sure if I got a bad bottle or not. I got literally no hazelnut flavor, but I did get a slight vegetal flavor and nose. The sweetness from the lactose was present. Just not what I was expecting. Not really 'off', just not what I expected.

Taste: Big, roasted coffee, hazelnut, sweet creamy lactose, complex, super dark chocolate malts, hints of tobacco, and alcohol notes. Coffee bean and toasty milk, and dark malt nose. Black, opaque, dark brown foamy head with some lace. Full semi sticky body. What a beer for after dinner, sip slowly as it warms up.

12oz draft poured into a tall tulip glass boasts an opaque dark maple brown body and floats a thin cap of dirty tan head and leaves minimal lacing.
Aroma is cocoa and hazelnut with the faintest hint of booze.
Flavor is milky, nutty, chocolate all at the same time and well balanced. For 13%, the booze is deceptive.
Mouthfeel is creamy, leaning full, pallette coating but clears without and residual.
A refined proper English Gentleman.

dark as motor oil with the consistency of hot motor oil
I pick up chocolate, and roasted scents.
flavor profile is of chocolate and a spicy sweet coat on the tongue
a slight sharp edge to it, a bit hot, alcoholic.but good. the raw sugar
probably gives that sharp edge, but I may be wrong.creamy mouth.
chewy.medium. I usually drink my beers when I buy them, including this,
but I can see where this could be great given some time, but good now!

Pretty good beer. Sweet smooth stout with slight hazelnut flavor. Hard to detect, but it's good anyway, so who cares.
