Appearance - It appears more like a dark shade of gold, but it was still technically a golden ale in appearance. A soft head head crowned the glass.
Smell - I could smell the cinnamon from across the room. At least it did not burn my eyes.
Taste - Cinnamon is not overwhelming in the taste. It had a nice creaminess from the lactose. I had the strange impression that I was drinking carpet cleaner based on the spice. Perhaps the beer was aged in Resolve barrels. There was lingering cinnamon burn in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - The beer had a nice level of creaminess from the lactose.
Overall - I have never had horchata, so that would be a bad comparison. Many have hated this beer. I did not hate it.
