A recreation of Dick Van Dyke's NHC gold medal-winning RIS from the 1991 national homebrew competition. Brewed with Maris Otter, wheat, English crystal malts, German Munich, debittered black malts, and molasses, this huge stout is smooth and roasty with a touch of sweetness. A small amount of licorice root was added for a touch of complexity.

Viscous charcoal black with a brown ring. Smells has great bourbon, molasses, malts, dark chocolate and wood. Taste is licorice and molasses forward with the bourbon and wood following, with the chocolate and an explosion of smooth malts finishing. Feel is very smooth, warm, viscous, thick, and dark. Feels like a throwback of a BA beer, nice
