Pours pitch black, shiny and completely opaque. Thin mocha colored fuzzy head dissipates leaving a ring of foam along the outside of the beer.
Aroma has notes of roasted malts, milk chocolate, lactose, and yea - a whiff of chocolate chip cookie dough.
Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted malts, some piney hops, milk chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, lactose, and some vanilla. Its pretty sweet, but avoids being cloyingly sweet. That being said, this is definitely a "pastry stout".
Feel is medium to full bodied. Carbonation is fizzy, prickly.
Overall its a solid "pastry" stout and some of the proceeds go to support a good cause.
