a hoppy lemongrass wheat beer, one of the better beers i had last night at comrade. this one is hazy and blonde but cant hold a head. the nose is really vibrantly lemongrass, very authentic and clearly a nice use of that tricky ingredient. the base beer meanwhile is medium bodied, a bit undercarbonated, but hopped really well. the hops have an almost tropical character along with medium bitterness, which brings out the lemongrass really well. the lemongrass is prominent in the finish, and with the hops create a memorable flavor profile. i just wish it was more actively carbonated. it could be so refreshing and sessionable with that, but it gets heavy without. a beer that will likely get better as this new operation figures out its system and gets recipes dialed in. the flavors here are great though, so definitely on to try when you go check this place out.
