another tasty one from comrade, although its a little unsatisfying as an american pale, but i never care much for style guidelines anyway. its very very light from the tap, as much of a pils look to it as an apa, and the head is magnificent, tall and airy and lasting. the nose here smells a little fruity, not melon per se, but it has a springy not too sweet delicate fruit complexion that eases seamlessly into the hoppy part of the beer, which are really one in the same, and it see why these hops are named as they are. its not real hoppy in the flavor though, probably more of a dry hop thing going on, because there isnt much hop bitterness or flavor on the back end of this, just that soft fruitiness. i like it a lot still though, i like the concept, and i like the execution. a more aggressively hopped beer, or something more tropical, nelson or sorachi in higher dose with the melon hops would really make this pop off, but i think comrade is best in these hoppy genres, and they have given us a cool expression of this unique and probably soon to be popular hop. on tap at the new pint room, worth checking out when in littleton.

A single hop Hull Melon pale. Looks great, nice light copper, clean. This is a "toned down" pale compared to others in today's hopped up category. The hop lives up to its name. Light honeydew melon, perhaps casaba, in the nose and flavor. Not quite the hop feel on the end, but this makes it easier drinking
